Who We Are
UREAL ("we", "our", or "us") is an AI content detection platform available at ureal.in and as a Chrome browser extension. UREAL helps users identify whether text, images, and other content is human-created or AI-generated.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user — for both the UREAL website and the UREAL Chrome Extension.
What Data We Collect
UREAL Website (ureal.in)
- Text you submit for analysis — when you paste text into the detection tool, it is sent to our servers for analysis. We do not store this text after analysis is complete.
- Images you upload — images submitted for AI detection are processed and immediately discarded. We do not store your images.
- Basic usage data — we may collect anonymised data such as number of scans, browser type, and country for improving our service. No personally identifiable information is collected.
UREAL Chrome Extension
- Page text — when you click "Scan This Page", the extension reads visible text from the current page and sends it to our API for analysis. We do not store this text.
- No browsing history — the extension does not track which websites you visit, your browsing history, or any activity outside of a scan you explicitly trigger.
- No personal data — we do not collect your name, email, IP address, or any personally identifiable information through the extension.
🔒 Simple version: We only see what you send us for analysis. We don't store it, sell it, or share it. Ever.
How We Use Your Data
- To perform AI content detection and return results to you
- To improve the accuracy and performance of our detection models
- To understand general usage patterns (anonymised, never personal)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sell it to any third party under any circumstance.
Third-Party Services
UREAL uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Anthropic API — text and image content submitted for analysis is processed via Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic's own privacy policy applies to this processing. See anthropic.com/privacy
- Netlify — our website and serverless functions are hosted on Netlify. See netlify.com/privacy
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising trackers.
Chrome Extension Permissions
The UREAL Chrome Extension requests the following permissions:
- activeTab — to read text from the page you are currently viewing, only when you click Scan This Page.
- scripting — to extract visible text from the page. The script only reads text and does not modify the page.
- Access to all URLs — so UREAL can scan any website you choose, including Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, news sites, and more.
The extension only activates when you explicitly click Scan This Page. It does not run in the background or monitor your browsing.
Data Retention
UREAL does not retain user-submitted content. Text and images sent for analysis are processed in real-time and discarded immediately after the result is returned to you.
We do not maintain a database of scanned content linked to users.
Children's Privacy
UREAL is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
Your Rights
Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. However, if you have any concerns about your data, you can contact us at any time and we will respond within 48 hours.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as UREAL grows. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
